I Am Understood

Have you ever felt like nobody else understands what you're dealing with? That no one could ever know how you feel or what you're thinking? All of us at some point feel like that. Like we're all alone.

We take this thought in our approach to God. We think that since "nobody understands" that God won't understand either. We think that God doesn't understand our struggles or our hurts. The incredible thing is that He DOES understand!

How in the world can the God, Creator of the universe, understand my daily struggles? Easy, He became flesh. It's as simple as that. Jesus knows our pains, hurts, and struggles. You might say "Yeah, but He never sinned." TRUE, but that surely doesn't mean that he wasn't tempted to!

We all know about Jesus' temptation and we generally dismiss it as proof that Jesus was stronger than we could ever be. WRONG! He struggled with the temptation just as each one of us do. I mean, seriously, how hard would it have turn down the opportunity to turn rocks into food after not eating for 40 days? You can't tell me that it was easy for Jesus to deny the temptation, it had to be incredibly hard!

So how does that help me now? Simple. Jesus understands your struggles and is cheering for you. Picture it, Jesus is up in heaven and He's rooting for you. He wants you to make it! That might sound overly spiritual, but it's true. God knows your pain because He has been there.

So may you come to find that you are understood. That God knows your pain and your struggles and that He is cheering you on!
