Everything Is Different

One of my favorite songs right now is "Everything Is Different" by Shane & Shane. One of the lines in it just cut right through me every time I hear it. It says "I was dead in my sin, You came in. You made a way when there was no way... I feel a dead heart beating now, this revelation makes me wanna shout that Jesus has been sent and everything is different."
I don't know about you, but that hits my heart because I think "Is that true?" Seriously, is it true about my life? Now that Jesus is in my life, is EVERYTHING about me different? A lot of us say, "Yeah, my life is completely different!" Great, but is EVERYTHING different? Do we still hold on to things from our past? Do we look back on our old life and think, "Man those were the days." You life can be completely different without everything changing. (Hopefully you see what I mean by that.)
Let me try to put this into practical terms. When you look in the mirror, who do you see? Obviously you see your reflection in a mirror, but in the mirror of God's Word, who do you see? Do you see yourself or do you see Jesus being reflected? Are you still living your life for yourself and professing Jesus as your "Savior" not as your "Lord"? Do you see Him or do you see yourself living for Him? There is a dramatic difference there! The difference between Him living through you and you living for Him is immense. One is based on Him and the other based on You. You can seem like a great Christian all of your life, but still be selfish, which just shows that not everything is different about your life. Letting Him live through you is completely different in that it is no longer your life, but Christ living through you. Your desires and opinions no longer matter (which is fine by me, LoL), but it is His will that prevails in everything and by that "everything is different."
So may you find that nothing is different until everything is different. May you no longer hold on to the past, but allow God to have your future.
